Top Tip #5 – Additional User Access Levels

One of the many requests we get is “How do I allow a user to see 1 or more other fee earners (or teams) without giving them Team Leader or Department Leader settings?”

To set User Access Levels, click on the cog in the top right hand corner maintnenance-cogand select Maintenance from the list. Please note that only those set as Administrators will see the cog.

In User Maintenance select the required user, and then select the 2nd tab below – User Access Levels

User Access is set using 2 concepts: Management Level and Navigation Level. Both of these concepts refer to the levels of firm hierarchy supported by Katchr.
• Firm
• Group
• Department
• Team
• Fee Earner
Management Level is the highest level that a user can drill down from.
Navigation Level is the highest level that a user can view aggregated figures for.

*Please note that there will already be an Access Level fixed. This is inherited from the settings in the User Maintenance tab.

To give additional access rights to a user, create an additional Access Level record as follows:

  1. Set the Management Level to Fee Earner and then select the Fee Earner underneath
  2. Repeat for the Navigation Level
  3. click on Add.
